Infrared Light
What is it?
discovered by William Hershel in 1800, Infrared Light are waves between the wavelengths of 1000 µm. They are used in remote controls, to detect differences in temperature. Some animals and insects can sense them. Good link for more information: http://missionscience.nasa.gov/ems/07_infraredwaves.html |
Medical Uses
Infrared imaging is used to diagnose patient, which is a less invasive procedure and is completely harmless. The way Infrared imaging works is that any disease in the body causes inflammation which increases the temperature of the infected area.
